Warner Bros. has already tapped Michael B. Jordan to star in Methuselah. Jordan is also set to produce via his Outlier Society production company alongside Heyday’s David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford.

Deadline now reports that the studio is in early negotiations with Jon Watts to helm the movie about the man who lived to be 969 years old.

Should Watts join, he will direct from a script penned by Tony Gilroy. According to sources, the script focuses on Methuselah’s survival skills.

Despite being a priority at Warner Bros., the project has been in development for years. In that time, names like Will Smith and Tom Cruise have been attached to the project.

Watts directed Spider-Man: Homecoming as well as the upcoming sequel Spider-Man: Far From Home.
