The famous board game Clue has already got a cinematic adaptation in 1985 movies starring Tim Curry, Madeline Kehn, and Christopher Lloyd. Fox/Disney brings it back yet again with Ryan Reynolds as the lead.

This reboot was already announced in 2018 but now it is confirmed that the studios are in talks with Jason Bateman to fill the director’s chair. Bateman just got an Emmy for Netflix’s Ozark. He is also set to direct some of the episodes in the upcoming HBO series The Outsider.

Along with starring in the movie, Reynolds will also be a producer and Bateman will also appear in the movie. The script was originally to be written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote both Deadpool movies, but now it seems Reynolds and Bateman will take over the script development as well.

The original movie did not do so well in the box office but has since then garnered somewhat of a following. Universal has already tried to reboot it at the beginning of the 2000s with Gore Verbinski at the helm as a director, but this version never took off.
