“Impractical Jokers: The Movie” Gets a Release Date & Trailer

The Impractical Jokers and all their hidden-camera dares will get a feature-length film with truTV in select theatres on Friday, February 21, 2020.

Impractical Jokers: The Movie will be directed by Chris Henchy (Daddy’s Home, Eastbound & Down) and produced by Funny or Die. The cast, known as the Tenderloins, incudes Brian “Q” Quinn, James “Murr” Murray, Sal Vulcano, and Joe Gatto, and they’re lifelong friends and comedians. The film will be based on a fictional story about a high school mishap from the early 1990s. Although the story is fictional, there will be real-life footage of the jokers and callbacks from the series.

The movie, which is an extension of the series, Impractical Jokers, is in its eighth season. Also appearing in the movie are Paula Abdul, Jaden Smith, and Joey Fatone.

In reference to the film, the Tenderloins said, “The opportunity to bring the fun we have making Impractical Jokers from television to the big screen is a dream come true for us. When we started the show eight seasons ago, we always had a desire to expand our style of comedy to new mediums outside of television, and via our comedy tours, cruises, and now film, we’re excited to continue this adventure with our fans.”

Impractical Jokers the series will return on Thursday, January 30.
