Rejoice ‘90s babies, Hilary Duff is engaged!
The former Lizzie McGuire star announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend, Matthew Koma, on Instagram with the caption, “He asked me to be his wife.”
Her now fiancé posted the same photo and sweetly said, “I asked my best friend to marry me…”
The pair have been together since early 2017. While they split in March of the same year, the couple was back on by September, and it’s been smooth sailing for them ever since.
Duff and Koma share a daughter, Banks, who was born earlier this year. Singer/songwriter Koma reportedly wanted to propose to Duff in order to solidify their family — including Duff’s son, Luca Comrie, from her marriage to Mike Comrie.
A source close to the Younger actress tells PEOPLE, “Hilary has always known she would be with Matthew forever and having Banks sealed the deal. She’s really happy and excited. Everyone in Hilary’s family has always loved him and seeing him be a dad to Banks now has only made their relationship stronger.”
