HBO FINALLY Announces “Game of Thrones” Release Date

Kit Harington as Jon Snow in "Game of Thrones"

We officially know when winter is coming!

After months of teasing, HBO has finally revealed just when we can expect the final season of Game of Thrones.

The network declared last year that we would return to Westeros some time in April to see who would eventually sit on the Iron Throne.

The premiere date was announced along with a haunting teaser trailer entitled The Crypts of Winterfell.

Jon, Sansa, and Arya walk through the crypts while the voices of their parents Ned and Cat are ominously heard. The trio then find stone statuettes of themselves before ice creeps towards them signifying the upcoming battle with the White Walkers which is set to dominate the final season.

The teaser ends with the most important part of information: Game of Thrones will premiere on the 14th of April.

The last hurrah will consist of 6 episodes each running an hour and a half in length.

Valar morghulis.

Mark your calendars.
