Hayley Atwell Joins the Next “Mission: Impossible”

Hayley Atwell has decided to accept a new mission.

The Avengers: Endgame actress has signed on to star in the next installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise, which is scheduled for release in 2021.

The film is set to be the seventh in the series and will once again star Tom Cruise as agent Ethan Hunt.

The news of Atwell’s casting was confirmed by Christopher McQuarrie, who is both writing and directing the feature, as he did for Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible — Fallout.

“Should you choose to accept…” he wrote on Instagram in reference to the franchise’s famous quote, “This is your mission, should you choose to accept it.”

It is not known whether Atwell will stay on for the 8th film in the series, expected in 2022, which will also be helmed by McQuarrie.

The seventh film is scheduled for July 23rd, 2021.
