Tim Robbins has read a lot of scripts in his life. It’s only natural considering the Here and Now actor has starred in 73 productions, as well as producing and directing a few. But if you ever wanted to know which is the best script he’s ever read, then listen up.

The 59-year-old recently attended the Karlovy Vary Film Festival (where he received the crystal globe) and sat down with Variety where they discussed a film which made Tim a household name — The Shawshank Redemption.

“It did take me by surprise when it first happened,” the actor said in connection with just how popular the 1994 film became. “I thought the film was really great. I thought the script was the best script I’ve ever read, and I thought there was a great movie made of it. To have that kind of recognition and acknowledgment by so many people — it’s one of those bucket list things. It takes a lot of pressure off of you.”

The film, based upon a Stephen King novel, went on to receive 7 Oscar nominations and has long been regarded as the number 1 movie on IMDB.

We guess Tim was on to something.
