“Gossip Girl” is Coming Back

Penn Badgley and Blake Lively in "Gossip Girl"

The Upper East Side best prepare, because Gossip Girl is back in town…

Seven years after we said goodbye to Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, and Lonely Boy Dan Humphrey, the elite of New York City’s Upper East Side is set to become the focus of Gossip Girl’s blogs once again.

Warner Bros’ new streaming service, HBO Max, has announced that it will be creating a spin-off of the famous CW series, which starred Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, and Ed Westwick.

The original ran between 2007 to 2012 and was written by Joshua Safran, who also executive produced alongside Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

The trio will be involved in the spin-off, which will pick up eight years after the original website went dark with a new generation of NYC high schoolers coming under Gossip Girl’s surveillance.

The new version will consist of 10 hour-long episodes.
