The Fresh Prince has given his seal of approval.

After spending his childhood days in West Philadelphia, where he chilled out, shootin’ some B-ball outside the school, a couple of guys who were up to no good prompted Will Smith’s mother to send him to live with his auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.

That’s the premise for the comedy The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which ran from 1990 to 1996.

But now a fan has offered a different take on the classic sitcom…

Cinematographer Morgan Cooper has created a YouTube video in which he reimagined The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as an indie film called Bel-Air. And the clip has caught the attention of none other than the Fresh Prince himself!

Smith posted a review on his own YouTube page, saying, “I saw this trailer that Morgan Cooper hooked up, it was called Bel-Air. This is the first time that I heard something and I was like ‘Yo, that’s an idea that is brilliant.’”

High praise, indeed!
