Ed Sheeran could be following in the musical footsteps of Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney, and Adele.

The “Castle on the Hill” singer is reportedly being considered to write the theme song for the upcoming James Bond film.

The previous two Bond movies, Skyfall and Spectre, have seen Adele and Sam Smith both win Academy Awards for Best Original Song.

Daniel Craig, who will be making his final outing as 007, was reportedly introduced to Sheeran’s music by his daughter, Ella, and became a fan.

Craig’s love of the Suffolk singer has put him in consideration to pen and perform the theme song for the forthcoming feature, which has so far been titled Bond 25.

It is believed, however, that producers may prefer to go with a tried and tested favorite by bringing back Adele, whose track “Skyfall” picked up the Oscar for Best Original Song in 2013.
