Amanda Peet and Christian Slater are getting dirty.
USA Network has announced that the pair will be the latest addition to the sophomore season of its show Dirty John.
The anthology series is based on the Dirty John podcast, which examines true crime stories.
Eric Bana and Connie Britton starred in season 1 as a con artist and the unsuspecting divorcee on whom he preyed.
“The first season of Dirty John was a story of twisted love and coercive control and both these insidious elements are also present in and integral to the story of Betty Broderick, whom I have wanted to write about since I became a writer,” said series creator Alexandra Cunningham. “I can’t wait to see Amanda and Christian bring it to life.”
Peet will play the titular character in Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story, alongside Slater who will portray her husband. The true story, which takes place between the ‘60s and the ‘80s, ended in double homicide.
