He is not just a slumdog millionaire — he is now a director, too.
Academy Award-nominated actor, Dev Patel, is set to make his debut behind the camera with a film set in India.
The film, entitled Monkey Man, tells the tale of a man who emerges from prison to grapple with a world marred by, in the words of the logline, “corporate greed and eroding spiritual values”.
Dev co-wrote the script with Paul Angunawela and John Collee, setting it in modern-day India, and reportedly incorporating mythology.
In addition to penning the screenplay and directing, the Lion actor is also expected to star in the film.
Production is set to start in Mumbai in spring 2019.
