Everyone knows that the decade of glitter hair gel and choker necklaces was defined by the feud between two pop stars who were at the height of their musical game.
When it came to singers, you were either Team Christina or Team Britney [Spears].
The blonde pair had worked together as kids on The Mickey Mouse Club but became the subject of a “rivalry”, with the media who pitting Britney’s “good girl” image against Christina’s more sexy persona.
“When I was coming up, it was very obvious, you know, me and Britney were definitely… there was the Britney/Christina considered rivalry thing,” the Genie in a Bottle singer told Jimmy Kimmel whilst appearing on his show.
“If we had social media back then, we would have probably done a song together and just squashed it,” she mused, before saying, “It’s probably not too late for that.”
