Cardi B just made history.
The 25-year-old has achieved a feat that no female rapper who has come before has managed to accomplish.
Cardi’s newest single, I Like It, which also features Bad Bunny and J Balvin, recently hit number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The achievement meant that the momma-to-be became the very first female rapper to have 2 top-ranked singles on the chart.
The Bronx native’s other song was, of course, Bodak Yellow, which spent 3 weeks at #1 and definitely made money moves.
That track made history of its own as it marked the first time that a female rapper stood atop the 100 since 1998 when Lauryn Hill reigned with Do Wop (That Thing).
Cardi expressed her happiness in a video she shared on Instagram which included the caption, “I look crazy guys but I’m Soo happy #1 on the Billboard !!!!!”
She definitely ain’t no one hit wonder.
