Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans get excited – the show has already been renewed for season eight.

The critically acclaimed comedy series has been renewed for another season ahead of season seven’s airdate. Season seven will arrive on the small screen in February and now fans can relax knowing that an eighth season has already been confirmed.

NBC announced the news on Instagram via video of the whole cast receiving the news. When they learned of the new season, everyone whooped and cheered. Terry Cruise (Sergeant Terry Jeffords) threw his papers up in the air with glee while Joe Lo Truglio (Detective Charles Boyle) fist-pumped.

Season eight is great news for the show considering how many NBC shows have been axed this year. We will soon have to say goodbye to The Good Place and Will & Grace is about to come to a finish after eleven seasons on the network.

Fortunately for fans, Brooklyn Nine-Nine seems to have a long life ahead. After being axed by Fox last year, NBC seems to be doing what they can to keep the show alive.

Season seven will air in February 2020.
