We’re getting a double dose of Ariel!

While Disney is planning a live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, ABC is organizing its own version.

The network originally planned to create a live musical rendition of the animated classic in 2017, but the production was delayed before Ariel, Ursula, or Sebastian could even be cast.

With the Disney film celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, ABC is heading back under the sea.

Auli’i Cravalho, who provided the voice of Moana in the Disney movie of the same name, will don a tail as she takes on the underwater princess.

She will be accompanied by Chicago star Queen Latifah as the sea witch Ursula, while “It Wasn’t Me” rapper Shaggy will portray Ariel’s best crustacean friend, Sebastian.

According to the President of ABC, Karey Burke, The Wonderful World of Disney presents The Little Mermaid Live! will be set to music from the original animated film and the Broadway stage version, while featuring intricate sets, costumes, and puppetry.

We’ll head under the sea on November 5th.
