A whole new generation is about to be saying “As if!”

One of the ‘90s top teen films, Clueless, is set to be made into a television series.

The original film saw Alicia Silverstone play a popular high school student named Cher Horowitz who attempts to matchmake the new girl, in what is an adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel, Emma.

The movie was once before made into a series which ran between 1996 and 1999.

The new hour-long version is expected to focus on Dionne, Cher’s best friend played by Stacey Dash in the film. Dee enrolls in a new high school in Los Angeles in 2020 and is forced to become the most popular following the disappearance of Cher.

The series has been described as “Mean Girls meets Riverdale meets a Lizzo music video” with The CW and several streaming platforms said to be interested in broadcasting it.

We’re totally buggin’!
