Another Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is behind us and it was truly one for the books! Dolly Parton was its shiniest star this year, but the list of inductees on Saturday night also included the likes of Eminem and Lionel Richie.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame did a great job celebrating many different genres that influences rock music and youth cultures over the years. In addition to country legend Parton, soul singer Richie, and hip-hop titan Eminem, they also honored new wave duo Eurythmics, synth-pop band Duran Duran, and rock singers-songwriters Pat Benatar and Carly Simon.

Parton’s acceptance speech was one of the night’s highlights, especially since it comes months after she tried to reject her nomination because she didn’t feel deserving of this honor.

“This is a very special night for me. I’m sure a lot of you knew that back when they said they were gonna put me in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I didn’t really feel like I had done enough to deserve that… But I’m just honored and so proud to be here tonight,” said Parton in her acceptance speech.

She joins in the ranks of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Chet Atkins, Bill Monroe, and Brenda Lee as one of the rare artists to be inducted into both the Rock & Roll and Country Music Hall of Fame.
