All Your 2019 Golden Globe Nominations

Christian Bale in "Vice"

The 2019 Awards season can officially be declared open!

The rounds of red carpets, betting, and acceptance speeches only properly kicks off in January, but the 2019 Golden Globe Award nominations have now been released.

The announcement came exactly a month before the awards which are due to be held on the 6th of January.

The Dick Chaney biopic starring Christian Bale, Vice, leads the pack with 6 nominations (including Best Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Drama, Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture — Musical or Drama, and Best Picture — Musical or Drama).

The film narrowly trumped A Star is Born, The Favourite, and Green Book which each garnered 5 nods.

The television scene appeared a far more even playing field with Barry, The Kominsky Method, Homecoming, Sharp Objects, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and A Very English Scandal all scoring 3 nominations, behind only The Assassination of Gianni Versace which earned 4.

Not everyone was satisfied — or even unsurprised — by the nominations, as Sam Elliot of A Star is Born found himself without a nod, as did This Is Us and The Handmaid’s Tale besides a Best Actress nomination for the latter.

Hosting duties for the evening will be undertaken by Brooklyn Nine-Nine star, Andy Samberg, and Sandra Oh of Killing Eve (who is also nominated for Best Actress in a Television Drama).
