2018’s top-selling soundtracks were recently announced and movies dominated the music scene.
According to BuzzAngle Music, the soundtrack for The Greatest Showman topped the charts. The Hugh Jackman musical featured memorable songs such as “This Is Me” and “Rewrite the Stars”, culminating in 1.3 million albums sold.
The soundtrack was followed by a soundtrack of one of 2018’s top films — A Star Is Born. No doubt that Shallow, performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper aided in the sale of 525,000 units.
The top 3 was rounded out by a stage production as Lin-Manuel Miranda’s multi-award winning musical, Hamilton, sold 239,000 copies of its soundtrack.
When the year’s top albums were ranked by total consumption — The Greatest Showman came in 4th, behind Drake, Post Malone, and XXXTentacion.
