]]>Schitt’s Creek was named as the best comedy series, in addition to winning the awards for best directing and writing in comedy series. Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Annie Murphy, and Dan Levy all won Emmys in the acting categories. This is actually the first time in the history of this award show that a single comedy series came out victorious in all four main acting categories.
When it comes to the rest of the winners’ list, Succession was the biggest winner of the night in the drama categories, while Watchmen dominated the limited series categories. These weren’t the only big wins for HBO. Zendaya made history as the youngest winner for a lead actress in a drama with her role in Euphoria.
The virtual Primetime Emmy Awards were held on September 20th. The ceremony was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, with Hazmat suit-clad presenters delivering the awards to the winners.

]]>HBO has decided to commission a pilot based on the 1986 comic book series by Alan Moore.
The story, which follows an alternate reality in which superheroes are regarded as outlaws, was adapted into a feature-length film by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director, Zack Snyder, in 2009.
The television project is expected to be entirely separate from the film, and be created by Lost writer, Damon Lindelof, who has described it as a “remix”.
The cast of Watchmen already includes Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens and Andrew Howard, with HBO now revealing that Justice League actor, Jeremy Irons, will play a leading role.
The project does not yet have a release date, but we’re keeping a watch…
