“Ahisma,” which means non-violence in Sanskrit, is a collab with Oscar and Grammy-winning India musician AR Rahman. Rahman is known for his work on the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack and the song “Jai Ho.”

The song “celebrates the spiritual diversity of India and connects the ethos of U2 with the mastery of A.R. Rahman,” which was said in “Ahisma’s” official announcement.

Rahman said: “Ahimsa requires courage and strength. A quality that is impervious to weapons or power. It’s a mission which is most needed to heal the modern world and it is incredible timing to collaborate with U2, with their amazing legacy, to revive this movement.”

In addition to “Ahisma,” U2 will release “highlights from U2’s extensive catalog of songs,” remixed by Indian artists (originally reported by Variety).

The band’s The Joshua Tree Tour 2019 started on November 5 and it ends in Mumbai.

The Irish rockers were forced to cancel their performance mid-show after lead singer, Bono, suddenly lost his voice.

Those in the crowd said that the frontman had been coughing before hoarsely apologising.

“I think we can’t go on,” said the 58-year-old. “It’s not right for you.”

Following the concert, the three other members of the band – Larry Mullen Jr., The Edge, and Adam Clayton – issued a statement thanking fans for their support.

“Bono was in great form and great voice prior to the show and we were all looking forward to the second night in Berlin, but after a few songs, he suffered a complete loss of voice. We don’t know what has happened and we’re taking medical advice,” they said.
