]]>Netflix has released the first look at the limited series from Homeland’s Gideon Raff. The six-episode series is based on a true story and follows the Israeli clerk-turned-Mossad-agent Eli Cohen, as he goes undercover in Syria.
Cohen’s character is “a man who wants nothing more than to be of service to his country, but he does his job so well that he finds it hard to strip off his double identity,” Netflix said.
“Taking off the clothes doesn’t work anymore; I can’t put him away,” says Cohen in the trailer.
The Spy also stars Noah Emmerich (The Americans), Hadar Ratzon Rotem (Homeland) and Waleed Zuaiter (Colony).

]]>It has been confirmed that the Alice Through the Looking Glass actor will be starring in a new series for Netflix called The Spy.
The 6-part series will be written and directed by Gideon Raff, who created Israeli series Prisoners of War, on which the Emmy Award-winning series Homeland was based.
Baron Cohen will star as renowned Israeli espionage agent Eli Cohen (no relation…), whose work amidst Syrian high society prior to his discovery and arrest is believed to have been essential to Israel’s success in the 1967 Six Day War.
The 46-year-old actor, whose mother is Israeli, is expected to deliver a large portion of his performance in Hebrew, which he speaks fluently.
Baron Cohen has not acted regularly in a series since he introduced himself to audiences in the comedy parody Da Ali G Show, which ran between 2000 and 2004.
The Spy will be set during the 60s, with no release date revealed as yet.
