]]>Variety was the first to report that pre-production has already begun on the third season of the beloved Star Wars-themed show. Favreau has been working on the script for some time, and the art department has been creating concepts for the past few weeks.
This news comes about a month after The Mandalorian cast and crew managed to wrap the production on Season 2. It’s expected to premiere in October on Disney+ and is currently in the process of post-production.
The Mandalorian was one of the new original shows available on Disney+ when this streaming service launched in November last year. It became a critical and commercial hit and attracted many new subscribers to this streaming platform thanks to the viral success of its breakout character, The Child, often referred to as Baby Yoda.

]]>According to multiple sources, Biehn has been cast to play a bounty hunter who crosses paths with Mando. In more casting news, stand-up comedian Bill Burr will return as his season one character of Imperial sharpshooter-turned-mercenary Mayfield.
This follows the recent news that Ahsoka Tano will be played by Rosario Dawson in the forthcoming season.
The Disney+ series has also wrapped shooting and is slated to return in October.

]]>Speaking with EW, Jon Favreau, the executive producer of the upcoming Disney+ series, and Dave Filoni, the show’s director, shed light on the place of the show within the franchise.
“So somehow, things weren’t necessarily managed as well as they could have been if [the galaxy] ended up in hot water again like that”, said Filoni.
According to them, it seems things have not gone so well for the good guys of the galaxy as The Order is pretty powerful and well equipped by the beginning of The Force Awakens, and the new show will deal with this time period.
So what can the fans expect? It seems the show will depict the rise to power of the First Order in broad lines, even if it will not dive into specific stories like the backstory of Supreme Leader Snoke. the franchise’s cannon has already supplied fans with bits of what happened and the new show may tie the strings together.
