2025 Grammy Awards: Beyoncé Makes History With 11 Nominations

Beyoncé is no stranger to breaking records, and she’ll set a few more at this year’s Grammy Awards. The Recording Academy unveiled the list of nominations for the next ceremony, and Queen B is leading the way with 11, in addition to making history as the most-nominated artist ever with a total of 99 nods.

Beyoncé is already the most decorated artist in the history of the Grammy Awards with a total of 32 wins, but she now surprised her husband Jay-Z to become the most nominated artist, as well. She also broke the tie she previously shared with Lauryn Hill for most nominations for a female artist in a single year.

Despite writing her name in history books time and time again, Beyoncé is yet to win the coveted album of the year award. She’ll get another chance to come up victorious with Cowboy Carter, competing against the likes of Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Billie Eilish.

Beyoncé also received nods for song and record of the year with “Texas Hold ‘Em”, but the race for these awards will be pretty tight. Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather”, Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone, Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck Babe”, and Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” are also in the running.

The 2025 Grammy Awards are returning to the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 2, 2025, and the host is yet to be announced.

2024 MTV VMAs: Taylor Swift Scoops Seven Moon Person Trophies

The MTV Video Music Awards returned to New York on Wednesday night, and it was a night to remember for Taylor Swift. She came into the night with 12 nominations and walked away with seven Moon Person trophies, including her fifth video of the year award for “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone.

The list of contenders for the night’s most coveted award also included “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”, Billie Eilish’s “Lunch”, Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red”, Eminem’s “Houdini”, and SZA’s “Snooze”, but “Fortnight” was eventually named the video of the year.

This song collected four additional trophies – song of the summer, best collaboration, best editing, and best direction. Swift also won individual awards for artist of the year and best pop, bringing her total of Moon Person trophies to seven.

One major award slipped through Swift’s fingers despite her domination at this year’s VMAs. Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” was named song of the year, earning the singer her first Moon Person after beating Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em”, Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on Me”, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”, and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” to take it home.

The 2024 MTV VMAs were held on September 11 at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, with Megan Thee Stallion taking on hosting duties.

Taylor Swift Returns to No. 1 for Tenth Week With “Tortured Poets”

It’s been a while since Taylor Swift shared her album The Tortured Poets Department with the world, but that’s not stopping her from ruling the charts. Over two months since its release, her latest LP returned to the top of the Billboard 200 for its tenth consecutive week.

Tortured Poets earned 115,000 equivalent album units during its latest weeks on the chart, defeating The Secret of Us by Gracie Abrams to hit No. 1 for its tenth week. She thus extended her record for most weeks at No. 1 for a solo artist with 79 weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart.

She also becomes the first artist this century with three albums to spend at least ten weeks at No. 1, having previously done so with 1989 and Fearless. Whitney Houston, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, and The Kingston Trio are the only acts to achieve this feat before Swift.

The Tortured Poets Department was released on April 19, and she promoted its release with the music video for the lead single “Fortnight” ft. Post Malone. Its chart domination continued after Swift released several more variations featuring limited-edition bonus tracks, and this strategy significantly boosted its sales and kept it on top.

The iHeartRadio Music Awards are one of the spring’s most anticipated award shows, and they lived up to the hype on Monday night. This year’s ceremony has given us an impressive list of winners, led by Taylor Swift and SZA, who won the song of the year award with “Kill Bill”.

History repeated itself at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards after Swift came into the night as the most-nominated artist and took six trophies home. She was named the artist of the year this time around, beating the likes of Miley Cyrus, SZA, and Olivia Rodrigo.

Swift was also chosen as the pop artist of the year and came out victorious in four more categories – best lyrics for “Is It Over Now?”, TikTok bop of the year for “Cruel Summer”, tour of the year, and favorite tour style for The Eras Tour.

SZA was right behind with four wins, and her smash hit “Kill Bill” defeated tough competition in Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire” to be named the song of the year. She was also named the R&B artist of the year, in addition to winning R&B album of the year for SOS and R&B song of the year for “Snooze”.

The 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards came back to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on April 1, with Ludacris taking on hosting duties.

This year’s Grammy Awards were a long time coming, and they finally returned to Los Angeles on Sunday night. Taylor Swift made history with her fourth album of the year win with Midnights, and announced its follow-up The Tortured Poets Department in her acceptance speech.

Midnights was competing for album of the year opposite SZA’s SOS, Boygenius’ The Record, and Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts, but eventually came out victorious in this category. Swift credited fans for its success and thanked them by announcing her next album The Tortured Poets Department, set to hit the shelves on April 19. She also made history as the first solo artist with four album of the year wins.

Miley Cyrus finally became the Grammy winner on Sunday night after winning record of the year with “Flowers”. This viral hit was also nominated for song of the year, but Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” came out victorious in this field, while Victoria Monét collected the best new artist Grammy.

Phoebe Bridgers was the ceremony’s top winner with four awards, after coming into the night with seven nods. She won three of her trophies with Boygenius, while the list of three-time winners this year also included SZA, Victoria Monét, and Killer Mike.

The 2024 Grammy Awards took place on February 4 at LA’s Crypto.com Arena, with Trevor Noah returning as the four-time host.

2023 has truly been a record-breaking year for Taylor Swift, and it’s only fitting for her to finish it on top! The final Billboard 200 chart of 2023 is in, and the Grammy-winning singer soared back to the top with her album 1989 (Taylor’s Version) to finish the year at No. 1.

1989 (Taylor’s Version) returned to No. 1 for the fourth non-consecutive week with 136,000 equivalent album units earned. It’s the re-recording of Swift’s seminal album 1989, and she promoted its release with a new single “Is It Over Now?”, which soared to No. 1 after fans gave it a major push.

1989 (Taylor’s Version) dethroned Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 to spend the last week of the year at No. 1. It’s not Swift’s only former No. 1 to make it to the top ten on the Billboard 200 chart this week, since it was joined by Midnights at No. 3 and Lover at No. 7.

This marks the 67th week Swift spent atop the Billboard 200 across all 13 of her chart-topping releases, and this number is quite historic. She’s just one week away from becoming a soloist with most weeks at No. 1, after equaling Elvis Presley. The all-time record will be much harder to achieve, and it’s held by The Beatles with 132 weeks atop the US Billboard 200 chart.

The Billboard Music Awards unveiled the list of winners for this year, and they’ve been pretty easy to predict. After dominating the Billboard charts throughout 2023, Morgan Wallen and Taylor Swift emerged as the top winners at this year’s ceremony.

The country singer Morgan Wallen led the way after picking up awards in 11 categories, starting with the top male artist. He also dominated the two main album and song fields: the top Billboard 200 album with One Thing at the Time and the top Hot 100 song with “Last Night”.

Despite Wallen’s best efforts, Swift managed to walk away with the shiniest trophy of the night – the top artist. She came out victorious in a total of 10 categories and tuned in via pre-recorded video message to thank her fans, saying she feels like the luckiest person in the world to have them in her corner.

Swift brought her career total to 39 Billboard Music Awards at this year’s ceremony, but she wasn’t the only artist to do so. Drake walked away with five awards and tied Swift’s record for most BBMAs won by a single artist.

The 2023 Billboard Music Awards took place on November 19, and the list of major winners also included SZA and Zach Bryan with four awards, followed by 21 Savage, Bad Bunny, Beyoncé, and Miley Cyrus each with three wins.

2023 MTV VMAs: Taylor Swift Steals the Show With Nine Wins

Taylor Swift always felt right at home on the MTV Video Music Awards stage, and she hit it time and time again this year! The pop sensation was the biggest winner of the night at this year’s MTV VMAs with nine awards, including video of the year with “Anti-Hero”.

The race for the night’s most-coveted award also included Doja Cat’s “Attention”, Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers”, Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl”, Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire”, Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ “Unholy”, and SZA’s “Kill Bill”, but none of them could come even close to “Anti-Hero”.

In addition to winning her record-extending fourth award for video of the year, Swift also won song of the year, best pop, best direction, best visual effects, best editing, and best cinematography with “Anti-Hero”. She came out victorious in three other categories – artist of the year, show of the summer, and album of the year with Midnights.

As for the rest of the winners’ list, Ice Spice was crowned as the best new artist, following in the footsteps of Dove Cameron and Olivia Rodrigo. Shakira also had a reason to celebrate after collecting the trophy for best collaboration with Karol G for “TQG”, in addition to being honored with the lifetime-achievement Video Vanguard Award.

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards were held in Newark, New Jersey on September 12, with Nicki Minaj hosting the festivities for the second consecutive year.

Taylor Swift Returns to No. 1 With “Midnights” After Releasing Deluxe Edition

Taylor Swift broke countless records with her tenth studio album Midnights, and she’s back at it again! Midnights returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart after the release of two deluxe editions, breaking Morgan Wallen’s No. 1 streak after twelve weeks.

Swift surged back to No. 1 after Midnights earned 282,000 equivalent album units during its latest week on the chart, scoring the second biggest week for an album in 2023, after Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time. This LP spent 12 consecutive weeks at No. 1 after its release, and Midnights is the first album that managed to knock it down to No. 2.

Swift’s latest LP managed to accomplish this feat after two deluxe editions hit the shelves on May 26: The Til Dawn Edition and The Late Night Edition. They offered a perfect mix of old and new songs, including “Hits Different”, “You’re Losing Me”, “Karma” ft. Ice Spice, and “Snow on the Beach” with more Lana Del Rey.

Midnights was originally released in October last year, and it spent five weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart during its initial run. It made history as the first album to ever spawn 10 top-ten songs on the Billboard Hot 100 in the same week, including the No. 1 lead single “Anti-Hero”.
