The pop superstar, who’s currently receiving a lot of award buzz for her supporting role in Hustlers, compared performing at the Super Bowl to winning an Academy Award, and said it’s much less restrictive than touring.

“It’s like winning the Oscar. It’s the biggest show that there is. It has the biggest audience. You get to have this big production. Like, you don’t get to do that on tour. You know, everything’s budget conscious,” J. Lo told CBS This Morning.

The Super Bowl will take place on February 2nd, 2020, and Lopez will be co-headlining the show alongside fellow Latin superstar Shakira. During a previous interview with Jimmy Fallon, Lopez said they’re going to split the time they have between them and hopefully welcome a couple of special guests to the stage.

Next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show is set to be an absolute banger as it will have not one headline act but two.

Both Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will be basking in the limelight come February 2nd when the Super Bowl heads to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

The pair will follow in the musical footsteps of Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Madonna, the Black Eyed Peas, the Rolling Stones, and many other legends.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Jennifer Lopez and Shakira to the stage,” said Vice President for Pepsi, Todd Kaplan. “These two remarkable artists are setting a new precedent for what this show can become, and we’re confident that this will be an incredible performance for the ages.”

J.Lo has just completed her It’s My Party world tour, with her revealing earlier this month that she would love to headline the Super Bowl.

February 2nd is also Shakira’s birthday, meaning it’s gonna be one hell of a party!

“Though I very much hoped to be able to recover my vocal cords in time to pick the tour back up in January, and after exploring many options to that effect, I have accepted that this is an injury that simply needs more time and care to heal. I feel for all of you who planned ahead to come to these shows and who have been so patient as I took the time needed to figure out the best course of action with my doctors,” the 40-year old pop star continued. “Thankfully, I am so relieved and happy to share with you that I will be getting back on the road in June 2018 with my El Dorado World Tour in Europe, and the US, with Latin America dates to be announced soon.”

“I am very proud of this show; I feel it’s my best yet, since it has a repertoire filled with heartfelt songs and exciting moments of music and dance,” she added. “I really can’t wait for June! I promise to give you all of me and more from the minute I get on that stage and I am counting the days till showtime!”

Early in November, the “Waka Waka” singer first announced the postponement of some of her tours due to vocal cord hemorrhage. A few weeks later she postpones the entire tour to have enough time to recover from a vocal cord injury.

“Shakira’s doctors have determined that she needs to spend the next few months working towards recovery in order for her vocal cords to be in optimal condition for touring, and as such we are obliged to postpone the U.S. leg of the El Dorado World Tour, previously scheduled for January 2018. Tickets will be valid for the new date in your city or can be refunded at point of purchase if needed,” Live Nation, the concert promoter of Shakira’s shows, said in a press release.

“Though it has been a difficult time for Shakira, she is on her way towards recovering her voice fully and we are pleased to announce new dates for both the U.S. and European legs, beginning in June 2018. Please note Mexico and Latin America show dates are forthcoming,” Live Nation continued. “While disappointed to not be able to perform in January as scheduled, Shakira is happy to be able to get back on the road by summer with her best show yet, and remains incredibly grateful for all the loyalty, patience and support her fans have shown her.”

“During these last few days of rehearsals, I have unfortunately strained my vocal cords and, as a result, my doctors have ordered me to go on vocal rest to avoid any greater damage that could keep me from performing,” the statement read. “I’m devastated to have to miss our first show on November 8th in Koln. I love my German fans so much and was really looking forward to sharing my first show with you.”

“As much as it pains me, I know I need to heed the advice of my doctors and recover so I can give you all everything I’ve got once I’m on the road and not risk any further injury,” the message continued.

The Colombian singer added that the plan is to be able to come back at a later date. “The Live Nation team is working hard to find a new date for me to come back and share this exciting show with you which I feel is going to be my best one yet.”

The tour is now slated to open on Nov. 10 in Paris with doctors’ go signal.

“I am focusing on recovering now to be able to kick off on November 10th in Paris, as soon as I get the green light from my doctors. Thanks as always from the bottom of my heart for all the support and love you’ve shown me heading into this tour. I hope to make it worth the wait and see you all very soon!” Shakira concluded.
