Quentin Tarantino has a big new project in store.

The Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood director has announced that he is to become a father for the first time!

The 56-year-old got married last year to Israeli singer Daniella Pick after having known one another for a decade.

They first met at the 2009 Jerusalem Film Festival, where Tarantino was screening Inglourious Basterds, but only began dating years later in 2016. They made their union official in a Reform Jewish ceremony in Los Angeles in November 2018.

The newlyweds are currently on the road as Tarantino promotes Hollywood, but released a statement revealing that a third member of their crew was on the way: “Daniella and Quentin Tarantino are very delighted to announce that they are expecting a baby.”

The newborn’s arrival is further indication that the filmmaker, who has stated that he will retire after his 10th film, is heading towards his final feature.

If Quentin Tarantino does decide that Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood is his last film, he’ll be going out on a high.

The director has long alluded to only making ten films, but recently told GQ Australia, “I think when it comes to theatrical movies, I’ve come to the end of the road. I see myself writing books and starting to write theater, so I’ll still be creative. I just think I’ve given all I have to give to movies.”

After premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in May, Hollywood opened on July 26th, grossing $40.3 million at the domestic box office.

The figure has earned the movie the honor of being Tarantino’s highest-earning film on debut, beating Inglourious Basterds, which took in $38 million during its opening weekend in 2009.

Despite the impressive total, Hollywood still ranked second at the box office behind The Lion King remake, which is soon expected to reach $1 billion worldwide.

Quentin Tarantino’s new film is well over two hours long, but that could soon change.

The veteran director is premiering his 9th feature film at the illustrious Cannes Film Festival, where it has received rave reviews and even a 6-minute long standing ovation.

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood’s runtime has been clocked at 159 minutes — or two hours and 39 minutes. Tarantino has now said that he is considering making the movie even longer.

“I may make it longer,” the filmmaker said the day after audiences first saw the movie.

The film originally had a runtime of four hours and 20 minutes, but editor Fred Raskin worked hard to cut it down so that it could debut at Cannes.

“I wouldn’t take anything else out,” Tarantino continued. “I’m going to explore possibly putting something back in. If anything, I wanted to go to Cannes too short. If I’m going to err, I’m going to err on too tight.”

This would not be the first time the 56-year-old director has re-edited a film following its premiere — he did the same after Inglourious Basterds premiered at Cannes ten years ago.

Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood will be available to the public on July 26th.

Life happens. And sometimes that means art is affected.

When The Dark Knight star, Heath Ledger, died during filming of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the entire story was altered to accommodate his passing, while Paul Walker’s brothers volunteered as body doubles when he passed away in the middle of shooting Furious 7.

A similar thing has now occurred following the death of Burt Reynolds.

The Boogie Nights actor, who passed away on the 5th of September, was due to star in Quentin Tarantino’s new film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Burt was scheduled to act alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Al Pacino, Kurt Russell, and Dakota Fanning in the movie set around the 1969 murder of Sharon Tate by Charles Manson.

His role of George Spahn — an 80-year-old man who rented out his L.A. ranch to Manson and his followers in exchange for sex with female followers — will now be played by the late actor’s longtime friend and star of The Hateful Eight, Bruce Dern.

The film will be released on the 26th of July 2019.
