“Lose You to Love Me” was co-written by Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter and last week it debuted at No. 15 – it jumped 14 spots in one week!

The music video for “Lose You to Love Me” was recorded on an I-Phone and it has over 115 million views on Youtube and 82 million streams on Spotify.

Gomez took to Instagram following the exciting news, “My first number 1!! This song is so dear to my heart. I’ve been working so hard to make this album as honest and fun as possible while remaining vulnerable enough to share where I am in life. I love you deeply and thank you so much for listening. I want to thank each and every person that was apart of this moment that I’ll never forget!”

The “It Ain’t Me” singer released two new songs recently, both of which were inspired by her past relationship with fellow singer, Justin Bieber. 

While Selena has been featured on several songs, the last time she released her own new music was in 2017.

“This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album,” she said of the first single “Lose You to Love Me.” “I thought it was important to share the music, as I know many can relate to the fact that the road to self-discovery generally comes through the scars in one’s life. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself.”

Just a day later, Selena shared another new song, along with a music video. 

Sophie Müller directed the video for “Look At Her Now” which was co-written by Selena, Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, and Ian Kirkpatrick. 

“I felt having these two songs released back to back completed the story of how one can rise no matter what challenges life brings,” Selena said. “Turning off the noise and living your life on your terms.”
