Awards season 2020 is almost officially underway!

The Golden Globes kick off festivities every year, with this year’s ceremony taking place even earlier than usual on January 5. The Beverley Hills Hilton will be the venue for the glitzy event, which is often regarded as an office party, where everyone gets a little tipsy thanks to the bottles of booze on the tables.

Ricky Gervais will be returning to hosting duties, even though he swore he never would (he promises that this is definitely his last time…), but the night is renowned for having various celebrities grace the stage to present awards.

This year’s batch is set to include Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Tiffany Haddish, Charlize Theron, Will Ferrell, Tim Allen, Christian Bale, Antonio Banderas, Jason Bateman, Cate Blanchett, Matt Bomer, Pierce Brosnan, Glenn Close, Daniel Craig, Ted Danson, Ansel Elgort, Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, Lauren Graham, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, Scarlett Johansson, Elton John, Nick Jonas, Zoe Kravitz, Jennifer Lopez, Rami Malek, Kate McKinnon, Jason Momoa, Helen Mirren, Gwyneth Paltrow, Amy Poehler, Margot Robbie, Paul Rudd, Wesley Snipes, Octavia Spencer, Sofia Vergara, Kerry Washington, Naomi Watts, and Rachel Weisz.

And don’t be fooled — with the After Life actor around, no one is safe!

The dream team of Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Roberto De Niro could be back together again.

The trio were set to collaborate on Scorsese’s forthcoming picture, Killers of the Flower Moon, which is an adaptation of the non-fiction book by David Grann.

The book covers the true story of the multiple murders of members of the Osage Indian tribe in Oklahoma during the 1920s that occurred after they found oil on their lands.

All three have worked together previously — Scorsese and De Niro on The Irishman, Mean Streets, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Taxi Driver and Casino; Scorsese and DiCaprio on Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, and The Wolf of Wall Street; and DiCaprio and De Niro on Marvin’s Room and This Boy’s Life.

While DiCaprio has already signed on to Killers of the Flower Moon, De Niro is reportedly in early negotiations for the role of serial killer, William Hale.

Leonardo DiCaprio might soon be the stuff of nightmares.

The Oscar-winning actor is reportedly in talks to star in the next film from Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro.

Del Toro often wows audiences with his weirdly wonderful and imaginative works, such as The Shape of Water and Pan’s Labyrinth, but his next venture will be a remake.

The filmmaker plans to co-write and direct a retelling of the 1947 film Nightmare Alley, which is based on the novel of the same name by William Lindsay Gresham.

The story is about con-man who teams up with a female psychiatrist, who is even more corrupt than he is. Initially, their plan to trick people works, but then he finds himself becoming the mark.

DiCaprio is in talks for the lead role, which will not be his first as a con artist. He pulled off a similar character in 2002’s Catch Me If You Can.

Nightmare Alley is scheduled to start shooting in the fall.

It seems that a few of Hollywood’s leading men passed on, on what turned out to be a hugely successful feature.

According to Gus Van Sant, both Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt both passed on starring in the drama Brokeback Mountain.

Van Sant who was originally considered to direct the 2006 drama revealed in an interview with IndieWire that, “Nobody wanted to do it. I was working on it, and I felt like we needed a really strong cast, like a famous cast. That wasn’t working out. I asked the usual suspects: Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Ryan Phillippe. They all said no.”

This was confirmed via email to the outlet by the film’s producer and screenwriter Diana Ossana who wrote, “Yes, all those young gentlemen (at the time) turned down the project, for various reasons.”

The film that chronicles the complicated love story of two cowboys earned considerable acclaim earning eight Oscars nominations (the most of any film that year) including best actor and best supporting actor for Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, respectively.

As for Van Sant not directing the film, he added, “I was not ready. I’m not sure why. There was just sort of a hiccup on my part. There was something off with myself, I guess, whatever was going on.”
