Obi-Wan Kenobi is expected to take place 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, where the titular character witnessed the downfall of his friend and Jedi apprentice Anakin Skywalker. The series will start shooting later this month, with Deborah Chow serving as the director.

The cast of the upcoming Marvel film was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, where the 4th Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was also revealed.

Phase 3 ended with the events of The Avengers: Endgame, after 11 years and 23 movies.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige brought on stage the cast of The Eternals, which tells the story of a group of extremely powerful immortal beings who were created to defend Earth. That said, Thanos was one of them.

Amongst the line-up of stars who will be appearing in the movie is Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden. The pair will play Thena and Ikaris.

Joining them will be Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Lia McHugh, and Don Lee.

“This movie will allow those who have never felt represented in movies, in this case superheroes, to be represented. I love my diverse family,” Hayek said.

The Eternals is due to hit cinemas on November 6th, 2020.

Marvel is developing a film based on a new set of superbeings known as The Celestials — an ancient race of humans who possess greater powers and longer life spans.

They group created offshoots of humanity called the Eternals and the Deviants in order to test the adaptability of the human gene.

The Eternals, as the name suggests, will focus on that particular sect, revolving around a love story between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving among humans.

Angelina Jolie is reportedly in negotiations to star as Serei in the movie, directed by The Rider filmmaker Chloe Zhao, while Kumail Nanjiani of The Big Sick is also said to be in discussions.

The latest star said to be in negotiations for a role is The Bodyguard actor Richard Madden.

Marvel has remained rather quiet on the film, meaning there is no indication who Nanjiani or Madden will be playing.
