]]>Although Parsons appears as himself and not as his famous character Sheldon Cooper, his performance is incredibly on-brand. In the cameo, Parsons is introduced by Professor Frink during an interview he gives Lisa Simpson after he became the richest man in Springfield using his cryptocurrency “frinkcoin”.
Frink enlists Parson to explain what Cryptocurrency is, and it is safe to say no one will be wiser on the subject after watching this bit. Apart from confusing everyone, Parson uses his screen time mainly to prove that he is not a nerd, but cool.
It is evident that Parson had a hard time leaving his breakthrough character behind. Just before the last The Big Bang Theory episode aired, he said: “It was the first time in my life of doing this show that it occurred to me that I might want to not do another contract after [season] 12 was up. There was no factor; there was no situation that I was like, ‘Well, I’ve had enough of that.’ No. There was nothing like that. It was just… when you know, you know”.

]]>It seems you can take the actor out of the cast, but you can’t take the character out of the actor.
When Kaley Cuoco had a birthday coming up, the crew of The Big Bang Theory decided to plan a surprise celebration. All was going well… until Jim Parsons, aka Dr. Sheldon Cooper, decided to ruin things.
Much like his annoying — er, we mean “lovable” — character Jim decided to spoil the surprise by taking a picture of Kaley’s birthday cake and posting it on Instagram!
We know what you’re thinking — maybe she didn’t see it.
Except, Jim decided to tag her in the photo, with the caption, “Almost time, @kaleycuoco… shhhhh…”
As for the birthday girl’s reaction — Jim documented that, too.
“Oops,” he wrote, while Kaley commented, “ON THE FLOOR.”

]]>The uniqueness that is Dr. Sheldon Cooper could never have been contained in one series, so it seemed only fitting that CBS developed a show about his childhood entitled Young Sheldon.
Starring Iain Armitage as the titular character, the show is now in its sophomore season.
With the final season of The Big Bang Theory underway, it has now been confirmed that the 10-year-old, Lance Barber who plays his mom, and Montana Jordan who plays his brother Georgie, are all set to appear on the show.
It is not yet known how exactly young Sheldon will meet the grown-up version of himself played by Jim Parsons (who also narrates the spin-off), but we will find out come December.
Time-travel, anyone?

]]>It was announced on Wednesday that, after 12 years on the air, the scientific comedy would be coming to a conclusion following its forthcoming season.
A report by Entertainment Weekly had alleged that Jim, who plays the incorrigible yet lovable Dr. Sheldon Cooper, was responsible for the series ending as CBS and Warner Bros. Television were looking to pick up the show for two additional seasons before he chose to walk away.
In response, the 45-year-old posted a message on Instagram which conveyed his heartbreak over Big Bang embarking on its final season:
“It is hard (nearly impossible, actually) to really accept that this is a picture of the first of the final 24 episodes we will shoot for The Big Bang Theory,” he wrote in the post which thanked the show’s fans, crew, cast members, and writers. “I feel very fortunate that we have another 23 episodes to shoot this season because I am hopeful that with each and every one, my level of REALLY accepting this fact will sink in.”
Sounds like a good hypothesis.
