]]>Turns out, we almost had to.
The 28-year-old actress won a Leading Actress Oscar for the first role and Golden Globe for the second, but according to director David O. Russell, she was almost not cast in either.
“We thought you were too young and there were other actresses in the front of the line who were close to getting the role,” Russell told Lawrence about the role of Tiffany in Silver Linings Playbook during a panel at the Tribeca Film Festival.
And when it came to American Hustle, Lawrence was busy with other movies and “technically not available.”
Both roles worked out, however, leading to Russell and Lawrence becoming one of Hollywood’s most famous film partnerships. They have also collaborated on Joy, for which the actress also received a Golden Globe.
It also looks as though there is more to come as the director told his frequent leading lady, “I’m writing something for you now.”

]]>Adele has always seemed like the type of lass you’d like to hang out with and grab a beer. As did Jennifer Lawrence.
So, we’re sort of pleased that the two were seen hanging out together — if not insanely jealous!
The pair have been friends for a while, dating back all the way to 2013 when they met at the Academy Awards the night they both won Oscars (Adele for Best Original Song and Jennifer for Best Actress).
On Friday night, the two were spotted having a gay ol’ time at Pieces gay bar in New York City, where they sang and drank.
The girls’ night out included a drinking game of musical shots which — gasp — Adele actually lost! Even J-Law was shook and reportedly shouted, “How could you lose?!” Seriously, Adele.
Next time, please invite us as well!

]]>“Oh absolutely not. No, I don’t keep up with ballet,” said Lawrence to E! News. “It was really brutal. I have so much respect for those athletes slash artists. It’s amazing what they do, but as soon as I wrapped the ballet scene, I threw my shoes in the trash. Done.”
Although ballet is not something Lawrence would gladly repeat she said that she was really happy to be a part of Red Sparrow and that she enjoyed in the project.
“I’m so lucky to be part of this,” she said. “This just got me so excited and invigorated and I just couldn’t wait to get on set. And once the cast started coming together, I had been wanting to work with Matthias [Schoenaerts] for years on different projects, and when he fell into place, and Joel Edgerton, who I’m a huge fan of, Jeremy Irons, Charlotte Rampling. I mean, this cast was just very exciting.”
Red Sparrow is based on the novel of the same name, written by Jason Matthews. The first reviews were mixed: while Jennifer Lawrence’s performance was praised, the movie was criticized for lack of action and thin story.
