The story, which is co-written by Samuel and Boaz Yakin, is about outlaw Nat Love (Majors) who finds out that the man (Elba) who murdered his parents two decades ago is going to be released from prison, he brings back his gang to take care of the situation and get revenge.

Directing the Netflix film is Jeymes Samuel and producing along with Jay-Z is James Lassiter and Lawrence Bender. Jay-Z has worked with Samuel before in the soundtrack for The Great Gatsby. The duo will write and produce the music for The Harder They Fall.

If you want to catch Elba sooner, he will be in the much-awaited film adaptation of the Broadway musical Cats in December and a Western drama, Concrete Boys, which just began shooting.

The couple has been married for almost 11 years, has three children, and sing many songs with “love” in the title.

On Thursday night, the Carters were honored at the GLAAD Awards which recognized them for their contribution to the LGBTQ+ community.

“We’re here to promote love for every human being,” Beyoncé said while accepting the Vanguard Award alongside her husband.

“And change starts with supporting the people closest to you. So let’s tell them they are loved. Let’s remind them that they are beautiful, let’s speak out and protect them. And parents, let’s love our kids in their truest form… I’d like to request that we continue to shift the stigmas in this community, especially the stigmas in black families towards queer black and brown men and women.”

Jay Z acknowledged his mother Gloria who came out as a lesbian late in life, while the Lemonade singer dedicated the award to her “fabulous, gay” uncle Johnny who died of AIDS.

“He lived his truth, he was brave and unapologetic during a time when this country wasn’t as accepting. And witnessing his battle with HIV was one of the most painful experiences I’ve ever lived. I’m hopeful his struggles served to open pathways for other young people to live more freely. LGBTQI rights are human rights. To choose who you love is your human right. How you identify and see yourself is your human right.”

Michelle Obama and daughter Sacha and Malia were seen rocking to the sounds of the music industry’s power couple in the city of lights over the weekend. 

The former first lady has proven once again that she got the moves, dancing to the sounds of her longtime friend Queen Bey. Obama was front and center during the On the Run II tour next to Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles Lawson.

Beyoncé’s friendship with the Obama’s goes way back. She performed at Barack Obama’s inauguration ball in 2009 and sand the national anthem at his inauguration in 2013. Obama also her two daughters to see Jay-Z and Beyoncé in concert in Chicago in 2014 and attended the Global Citizen Festival in 2015, where Beyoncé was a featured artist.

Jay and Bey’s On the Run II tour kicked off in Cardiff, Wales. The duo is currently finishing their 15-city European section of the tour, after which they will return to North America.

It’s been just under a month since Beyoncé and Jay-Z dropped their joint album Everything Is Love. At the time, Beyoncé took to Instagram and shared snippets of “Ape**it” that was filmed in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. 

In the video, the duo position itself among the pieces alongside a cadre of dancers. The video includes 17 pieces of art, some more recognizable than others like Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and the Winged Victory of Samothrace. 

Now the Louvre is giving guided tours based on Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s video, which means that art buffs and music lovers alike can relive the video in real life, following the museum’s art collection based on where the couple was filmed.

Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, the choreographer behind the video, told Pitchfork, “I think the dancers are just so beautiful, and there’s something very sculptural about them. When they are inside of that space — just right on the stairs or suddenly moving in the group — you have the feeling that they could be those ancient mythological goddesses of the hunt or of wisdom. My projection of that was that they were embodiments of goddesses.”

According to the museum’s website, the tour lasts 90 minutes and runs on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z surprised fans with the announcement of their 9-track Love is Everything album during their London concert of their On the Run II tour.

The record will be made available exclusively on Jay-Z’s streaming site, Tidal, though they did debut the video for the first single, Apesh**t, which was filmed last month in the Louvre.
