The Golden Globes kick off festivities every year, with this year’s ceremony taking place even earlier than usual on January 5. The Beverley Hills Hilton will be the venue for the glitzy event, which is often regarded as an office party, where everyone gets a little tipsy thanks to the bottles of booze on the tables. 

Ricky Gervais will be returning to hosting duties, even though he swore he never would (he promises that this is definitely his last time…), but the night is renowned for having various celebrities grace the stage to present awards.

For the first time in seven years, the 39-year-old is clean-shaven!

Why the shave? Well, it’s for a good cause.

Jason is launching a new canned water that aims to aid the environment and is encouraging people to “make a switch to INFINITELY RECYCLABLE aluminium.”

“Goodbye DROGO, AQUAMAN, DECLAN, BABA! I’m shaving this beast off, it’s time to make a change,” he wrote in the caption to the video, bidding farewell to the look of several of his most famous characters. “A change for the better… for my kids, for your kids, the world.”

The new look is taking a while to grow on fans (see what we did there?), but we’re sure his beard will be back in no time.

The Game of Thrones stars played husband and wife on the HBO show’s first season, but have remained good friends ever since.

And so, when Emilia revealed that she had experienced quite a serious health scare, her on-screen spouse couldn’t help but gush about how much he adores her.

“I’m very sad, because we almost lost her numerous time,” Jason said of the double brain aneurysms the actress endured.

She revealed in an essay for The New Yorker that she was forced to undergo two life-saving surgeries and at one point was unable to speak.

“I’ve kind of been a part of that whole situation for a very long time, so we’ve had so many scares and trying to find the right way to come out and help,” Momoa, continued. “I just think it’s beautiful that… she’s so brave in helping the world and trying to raise awareness.”

Julie Andrews made the hills come alive with the sound of music, and now she’s taking her famous voice underwater.

After almost a decade since her last on-screen role, the 93-year-old will provide the voice of a key character in the upcoming Aquaman film.

The Mary Poppins star will take on the mythical sea creature, Karathen, who assists Jason Momoa’s titular character.

“We wanted the Karathen to have the voice of a classic British actress, albeit somewhat digitally altered,” said Peter Safran who is a producer on the Warner Bros. / DC film. “And when we found out Julie was interested and available and excited to do it, casting her was a no-brainer.”

Aquaman is set to be released on December 21st, which, ironically, is 2 days before the debut of Mary Poppins Returns — the sequel to Julie’s award-winning film.
