It’s Claire Underwood’s turn.

Three months after production wrapped on House of Cards sixth and final season, Netflix announces that the political drama will begin streaming on November 2.

The official announcement via the series’ Twitter featured a powerful image 52-year-old Robin Wright looking fierce in a long-sleeve navy blue dress, her right-hand grips her seat with spilling blood over the chair.

Season five which ended with Frank Underwood played by Kevin Spacey stepping down as President was followed by the streaming giant firing Spacey after numerous sexual allegations were made against the actor.

Back in May Wright, who will take over as the new commander-in-chief shared a promo image on social media in celebration of the production wrapping on the final season. She wrote, “As of last Friday, we finished filming the final season of @houseofcards. Working with our cast and crew has been an absolute joy. We became a family and I will miss you all and the nonstop laughs! Thank you @netflix & MRC for all of your support through the years!!”

The final season will feature Wright’s character, Claire Underwood as POTUS. Just last month Cindy Holland, Netflix’s Vice President of Original Series said of HOC’s final season that she was “proud” of what the cast and crew had accomplished despite the firing of the series’ lead. ”It’s a fitting end. We had always planned for season six to be the final season,” she said. “I’m very proud of what Robin [Wright did].”

Welcome to the oval, Madam President!

The Fourth of July put everyone in a celebratory mood, including Robin Wright’s House of Cards character Claire Underwood.

Claire celebrated her independence and we loved every minute of it. The videos shared on social media platforms were captioned with “A message from the President of the United States.” In the promo, Claire sits on a throne made to look like the iconic chair in the Lincoln Memorial. “Happy Independence Day… to me,” she says with typical Underwood menace. Then comes the iconic HoC message, #MyTurn.

House of Cards is set to return later this year without Kevin Spacey. Wright will lead the final season of Netflix’s political drama solo as the streaming giant severed ties with Spacey following sexual misconduct allegations.

There’s a new chief in town – and she’s here to ensure that the house doesn’t fold.

Fans of the Netflix series House of Cards are gearing up to bid the political series farewell as it embarks on its 6th and final season.

But it’s no secret that the main character of the last 5 seasons, Francis Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey), will not be making his way through the corridors of the White House this time around.

In the wake of the Hollywood sex scandal, and several allegations of sexual misconduct lodged against Spacey, Netflix made a decision to immediately remove him from the series.

The result is that Francis’ bad-ass wife, played by Robin Wright, will be helming the final season for which the trailer has finally been released.

The clip, which debuted during the Oscars, depicts Robin behind the desk in the Oval Office, declaring, “We’re just getting started.”

The network hasn’t included a release date (other than “fall”), but we’re already dry-cleaning our suits.
