The upcoming spinoff of ABC’s hit medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, revolving around the lives of Seattle firefighters, was simply referred to as “untitled Grey’s Anatomy spinoff” for a long time. Now, however, you can call it Station 19, since that will be show’s official title. This was revealed by show’s executive producer Paris Barclay, who shared the title with her Twitter followers.

Although everyone was eagerly anticipating the title, show’s star Jason George wasn’t nervous about it and said he was fine with the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff as title. Well, George, we hope you didn’t get too attached.

“Right now everybody just refers to us as the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff, which is perfect because it helps remind everybody that we live in the same universe as Grey’s Anatomy,” George said while talking with E! News. “And I’m a fan of the show, as well as having been on it, so I’m happy about that.”

The spinoff was announced in May 2017 with Stacy McKee, long-term writer of Grey’s Anatomy, serving as a showrunner and executive produce. ABC didn’t reveal much about the show except it will follow “a group of heroic firefighters of the Seattle Fire Department at Station 19 from the captain down the ranks to the newest recruit in their personal and professional lives.” The first season will have 10 episodes.

Jaina Lee Ortiz (Rosewood) was cast as the female lead Andy Herrera while Jason George will reprise his role of Ben Warren from the original. Barrett Doss, Okieriete Onaodowan, Jay Hayden, Alberto Frezza, Danielle Savre, and Grey Damon join as part of the cast as well.

Station 19 is set to premiere on March 22, 2018, with a two-hour long first episode.

We can’t get enough of Grey’s Anatomy and luckily ABC realized this and launched another spinoff of the popular TV show. Titled Grey’s Anatomy: B-Team, the series focuses on the new interns of Grey Sloan Memorial and its six episodes were just made available to stream on the ABC app and abc.com.

The main cast of the series includes Sophia Taylor Ali (Dahlia Qadri), Jake Borelli (Levi Schmitt), Alex Blue Davis (Casey Parker), Jaicy Elliot (Taryn Helm), Rushi Kota (Vik Roy) and Jeanine Mason (Samantha “Sam” Bello). Don’t worry, you’ll be able to see some familiar faces and fan favorites as Justin Chambers (Alex Karev), Kelly McCreary (Maggie Pierce), Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) and James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber) are all set to make a special appearance.

Sarah Drew made her directorial debut on the show while Barbara Kaye Friend wrote all six episodes.

If just six episodes will not be enough for you, there is more coming soon. We will soon get the Untitled Grey’s Anatomy Spinoff, which will focus on the firefighters in Seattle starring Jason George (Dr. Ben Warren), who will leave the original show and join the spinoff alongside a new cast which includes Grey Damon, Jay Hayden, Okieriete Onaodowan, Danielle Savre and Barrett Doss.

“It’ll be similar and different. It was a priority for me in thinking about this as a Grey’s Anatomy spinoff that it works hand-in-hand with Grey’s and was similar in both tone and intensity and humor and heart,” said executive producer and showrunner Stacy McKee about this spinoff.

These are all great news for the fans of the show, especially since the first spinoff Private Practice ended with its six season.

While Grey’s Anatomy is in its 14th season, with more than 300 episodes aired already, the show is still one of the highest-rated drama shows on television.
