Nanny Fine and Maxwell Sheffield are set to make a comeback.

It’s a good thing that the Twitterverse got nostalgic about The Nanny because we’re getting a virtual reunion.

The entire cast of the 90s’ sitcom is reuniting for a virtual table read of the series’ pilot episode. The reunion was teased series star Fran Drescher who replied to a fan who was feeling nostalgic with, “Awe hang in! We got a surprise for you! Announcement this week! Stay tuned! Weeeee!!!”

“Laughter is the best medicine! So, in these challenging times, Petah and I thought, wouldn’t it be great if we pulled together the original cast of The Nanny for a virtual read of the pilot?” said Drescher in a statement, referring to show’s co-creator, Peter Marc Jacobson. “It’s a once in a lifetime Pandemic Performance for our fans around the world who are currently stressing in isolation and could use a real upper! It sure has given each of us a lift and we hope it does for you as well.”

The virtual get-together will be posted on the Sony Pictures YouTube page on the morning of Monday, April 6.

The Nanny is heading to Broadway.

Fran Drescher, aka the nasally-voiced Fran Fine, and original series co-creator Peter Marc Jacobson are teaming up to work on The Nanny: A New Musical, which is in development. The two announced the news Wednesday.

“We are SO excited to be working on the Broadway musical The Nanny,” they said in a joint statement. “Nobody is cast yet — we’re plotting — but we feel confident we will find a fabulous actress who is funny, charming, and has a great voice,” they added.

Drescher and Jacobson, who will co-write the book, also teamed with Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) to write the lyrics and co-write the music with Adam Schlesinger.

The Nanny was a fundamental part of my childhood because it was the first time I saw an openly Jewish female protagonist on television,” Bloom said in a statement. “The story of Fran Fine, however, is a universal one that has touched the hearts of people of every race, religion and orientation. I am so proud to be using the characters established by The Nanny to tell a new story about one woman’s journey to becoming proud of who she is and what makes her different.”

Marc Bruni is set to direct.

The Bronx ain’t that far from Flushing, Queens… At least as far as Fran Drescher is concerned.

With practically every ’90s series getting a revival, the actress was asked about The Nanny following suit — and we have to say that her idea for who should join her is nothing short of on fleek!

“Wouldn’t [Cardi B] be great as my daughter?” she said in an interview with PEOPLE.

“I just thought she paid homage to me wearing animal print and said ‘Fran Drescher.’ And then I got my juices flowing and thought, ‘Wait a minute, she’s from New York, we both have funny voices, she could be my daughter! It’s really getting me excited. It’s fresh, and it could be super fun.”

The Nanny made the 61-year-old a household name as she played the titular character from 1993 until 1999.

If The Nanny DOES return, we hope the rest of the cast, including Charles Shaughnessy and Daniel Davis, returns as well.

As for Cardi?

Fran says she is talking to the Bodak Yellow rapper’s representatives.
