The entertainment industry has suffered some major losses because of the global impact of the coronavirus. Many major events, including concerts, television productions, film festivals, and movie releases, have been postponed or canceled. Here’s a list of some of the many events that have been affected by the coronavirus. We expect this list to continue growing over the next few weeks.

Movies

  • All theatres in mainland China, Milan, and Italy have been closed
  • Mission: Impossible: Production has been delayed; it’s scheduled for a July 2021 release.
  • No Time to Die: The new James Bond movie was set to be released on April 10th in the U.S., it’s now postponed until November 25th.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog, 1917, Jojo Rabbit, and Dolittle: Postponed indefinitely in China

TV

  • Disney+ Launch Event: The two-day launch event won’t be taking place, instead there will be an executive briefing via webcast
  • The Amazing Race: Filming has ceased indefinitely and contestants and production were sent home
  • The Bachelorette: No episodes in Italy

Events

  • CinemaCon 2020: Chinese exhibitors won’t attend this year
  • FILMMART 2020: Moved from late March to August 27-29
  • SXSW: Set for March 16-22 in Austin, but was canceled last Friday
  • 2020 Game Developers Conference: Set for March 16-20, but has been scrapped after many participants pulled out
  • Red Sea International Film Festival: Set for Match 12-21, but has been postponed indefinitely

Music

  • BTS, Green DayKhalidNew OrderPentatonix, StormzyMariah Carey, Avril LavigneLouis Tomlinson, and Testament postponed tour dates in Asia, Italy, and Hawaii
  • Tomorrowland Winter 2020: Set for March 12-21, but has been canceled

Apple just renewed Carpool Karaoke: The Series  for their Apple Music platform. Based on the popular recurring segment from The Late Late Show with James Corden, the series pairs celebrities with each other as they drive together and lip-sync to popular music.

The first season of  Carpool Karaoke: The Series premiered in August 2017 and featured Will Smith, Alicia Keys, John Legend, James Corden, Billy Eichner, Metallica, Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, Seth McFarlane, Ariana Grande, John Cena, LeBron James and many other celebrities. The season consisted of nineteen episodes running approximately 12-23 minutes each.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS Corp. CEO Leslie Moonves announced this exciting news during a conference call with their investors. She explained that CBS is very excited to create exclusive and original content to share with their viewers.

Carpool Karaoke: The Series was among the first programs featured on the Apple Music platform, which also included Planet of the Apps, featuring Will. I. Am, Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow and Gary Vaynerchuck as judges for the entrepreneur series.

Carpool Karaoke: The Series  is produced by CBC Television Studios and Fulwell 73.
