The post Dua Lipa’s Third Studio Album “Radical Optimism” is Coming Out This May appeared first on TheDailyDay.
]]>Lipa has been teasing her next era for a few months, and it was just a matter of time before she officially announced its release. That moment is finally here, and her third studio album Radical Optimism is coming out on May 3 via Warner Records.
In addition to sharing its title and release date, Lipa also posted the album cover which shows her in the middle of an ocean, just feet away from a terrifying shark. She opted for the title Radical Optimism because this concept resonated with her after she learned about it from a friend a few years ago.
“It struck me – the idea of going through chaos gracefully and feeling like you can weather any storm. At the same time, I found myself looking through the music history of psychedelia, trip-hop, and Britpop. It has always felt so confidently optimistic to me,” she explained in a statement.
Lipa also shared a full tracklist of her new album featuring 11 songs, including previously released singles “Houdini” and “Training Season”.

]]>Future Nostalgia hit the shelves on March 27th, a week earlier than planned after the album leaked online. That didn’t stop it from finding success on the charts, and it became Lipa’s first top-five entry on the Billboard 200 chart.
The singer’s sophomore album was an even bigger hit outside the US, especially in Europe. It reached no. 1 in Lipa’s home country of the UK, and numerous other countries including Ireland, Finland, and New Zealand.
Several hit songs from the album gave it a push in sales, including lead single “Don’t Start Now” which became Lipa’s first track to ever enter top three on Billboard Hot 100. She also found significant success with “Break My Heart”, which peaked at no. 21 in the US.

]]>Speaking with Bang Showbiz the “Don’t Start Now” singer dropped hints about her upcoming record. She described it as a mix of her old music with some new genres thrown in too.
“It’s very disco-orientated,” she shared on the Red Carpet at the MTV Emmy Awards. “I guess I got a lot of inspiration from “Electricity” and “One Kiss”, she continued. “It felt like the natural progression. The album is really nostalgic with new sounds.”
The news of a “nostalgic” album with “new sounds” comes as no surprise considering Dua Lipa’s recent social media posts. At the beginning of the month, the singer posted a photo of herself with her new blonde hair. She captioned the image “new era.”
