]]>Multiple outlets confirm that HBO has renewed Barry for an additional and third season. The news comes just two weeks after the show’s second season premiered on March 31st.
Barry, co-created by Bill Hader and Alec Berg, follows the titular character, played by Hader, a hitman who discovers a passion for acting when he comes to Los Angeles on a job. The series also stars Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan, and Henry Winkler.
Season two follows Barry as he attempts to untangle himself from the world of contract killing and fully immerse himself in acting. But he then discovers that the external factors are the only forces as play.
The HBO series won three Emmys for its first season, including acting nods for Hader and Winkler. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first two episode of Barry’s sophomore run have averaged 478,000 viewers down from season one’s 587,000.

]]>The event was held at the Microsoft Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles where James Corden played host to television’s biggest night.
Competing in its very first Emmy Awards, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel took home Best Comedy Series, Best Comedy Actress for its star Rachel Brosnahan, Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy for Alex Borstein, and even writing and directing awards for creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.
Barry also did well, receiving Best Comedy Actor and Supporting Actor for Bill Hader and Henry Winkler, respectively.
While Mrs. Maisel swept in the comedy category, the drama side was more diverse.
Game of Thrones claimed Best Drama Series, while Peter Dinklage took home Best Supporting Actor in a Drama.
Best Supporting Actress in a Drama went to Thandie Newton of Westworld, while The Americans, which is ending, received Best Writing for a Drama Series and Best Actor for Matthew Rhys.
Best Actress in a Drama Series was a royal affair as Claire Foy of The Crown was crowned the winner, and the series also won Beat Directing.
