]]>According to Variety, all net profits from the Avicii Tribute Concert for Mental Health Awareness will go to supporting organizations that address mental health needs and suicide prevention.
A slew of the industry’s best have already confirmed their participation. They will be headlining a two-hour set of his original music, some of it which has never been performed live. David Guetta, Kygo, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Laidback Luke and Nicky Romero, Aloe Blacc, Adam Lambert, Alex Ebert, Rita Ora and Joe Janiak and others will perform alongside a 30-piece band.
“Tim had plans for his music to be performed together with a large live band, and now we are realizing his dream and giving fans a chance to experience his music in this unique way,” says Klas Bergling, Avicii’s father.
He continued: “We are grateful that his friends, producers, artists and colleagues are coming to Stockholm to help. They have all expressed a sincere interest and desire to engage in efforts to stem the tide of mental illness and lend their support to our work with the Tim Bergling Foundation. We are very much looking forward to this evening, which will be a starting point for the foundation’s work going forward.”
Avicii was found dead this last April of an apparent suicide.

]]>The Swedish DJ passed away in April 2018, but numerous notes, emails, and near-completed songs have enabled his longtime collaborative producers, Al Fakir and Pontare, keep his sound alive.
The result is an upcoming album entitled TIM which is named for Avicii’s real name, Tim Bergling.
The album’s initial track, “SOS,” was released last month, with the sophomore song, “Tough Love,” now hitting the airwaves.
“We scream and we fight like there’s nothing to lose / End of the day, come and take my arm / There’s no place I’d rather be than in your arms,” state the lyrics sung by Agnes, Pomtare’s wife, in conjunction with Vargas.
“This one needs to be a duet. Coolest thing would be a real couple. Or a couple that have worked together enough to be almost considered a couple!” Avicii had written in his notes about the song.
We hope he would be proud of the final product.

]]>The music producer, whose real name was Tim Bergling, took his own life on April 20th, 2018 while in Oman, following years of struggling with mental health and other health-related issues.
The music world mourned his loss as his beats, such as “Levels,” “Wake Me Up,” and “Hey Brother,” had so often topped the charts.
But thanks to technology, we have not heard the last of Avicii.
The Swedish musician was close to completing a new album before his tragic death, and had left behind a collection of nearly-finished songs, along with notes, email conversations, and text messages about the music.
The result is a posthumous album called Tim, with the first track having now been released.
Grammy nominee Aloe Blacc is featured on the song “SOS,” after Avicii’s notes showed he wanted the singer’s voice on the track.
“I feel like ‘SOS’ was a song that was probably ahead of its time for when he wrote it,” Aloe said. “He wrote these lyrics obviously about some of his battles, and I think it’s a really important topic to approach and to share, especially with his visibility and his access to ears and hearts: To give people the words to be able to say ’I need help.’”
Tim will be released on the 6th of June.

]]>Berling was born in Stockholm in 1989. His life ended in Muscat, Oman. The stage name he chose – Avicii – means “the lowest level of Buddhist hell” and part of the reason he stuck with it was that his real name was already taken on MySpace.
His publicist spoke about the unfortunate event:
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”
