The Maleficent: Mistress of Evil actress is mom to six kids, aged 11-17: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne.

It was confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con that Jolie would be starring in The Eternals, about a group of celestial beings who inhabit Earth.

Set a million years ago, the Academy Award winner will portray Thena, alongside Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, and Kumail Nanjiani.

“She’s a warrior,” Jolie told PEOPLE of her character. “I’m going to have to work very hard to give the Marvel Cinematic Universe the Thena they deserve.”

Jolie disclosed that she has been training with swords and practicing ballet for the role.

The mother also revealed how important the part is to her children, and thus her.

“What’s really moving to me is that they want to see me strong, and so it’s less to see me in a film, but they’re just happy I will be strong and having fun,” she said.

The Eternals is expected on November 6th, 2020.

The cast of the upcoming Marvel film was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con, where the 4th Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was also revealed.

Phase 3 ended with the events of The Avengers: Endgame, after 11 years and 23 movies.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige brought on stage the cast of The Eternals, which tells the story of a group of extremely powerful immortal beings who were created to defend Earth. That said, Thanos was one of them.

Amongst the line-up of stars who will be appearing in the movie is Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden. The pair will play Thena and Ikaris.

Joining them will be Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Lia McHugh, and Don Lee.

“This movie will allow those who have never felt represented in movies, in this case superheroes, to be represented. I love my diverse family,” Hayek said.

The Eternals is due to hit cinemas on November 6th, 2020.

They group created offshoots of humanity called the Eternals and the Deviants in order to test the adaptability of the human gene.

The Eternals, as the name suggests, will focus on that particular sect, revolving around a love story between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving among humans.

Angelina Jolie is reportedly in negotiations to star as Serei in the movie, directed by The Rider filmmaker Chloe Zhao, while Kumail Nanjiani of The Big Sick is also said to be in discussions.

The latest star said to be in negotiations for a role is The Bodyguard actor Richard Madden.

Marvel has remained rather quiet on the film, meaning there is no indication who Nanjiani or Madden will be playing.

Sheridan has adapted the script from the Michael Koryta 2014 bestselling novel. The novel follows a young boy, witness to a murder, who is issued a new identity and is hidden in a wilderness skills program for troubled teens.

According to Deadline Sheridan used the novel as a jumping-off point, and all that is known of the plot is that the story is set against a wildfire in the Montana wilderness. Details of Jolie’s character are also under wraps.

The original Maleficent told the classic fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty from a different angle—instead focusing on the evil fairy and the story of why she chose to curse Princess Aurora as a baby.

It is not yet know whether the production, which is set to be helmed by director of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Joachim Ronning will follow on from the first film.

In the meantime, we’ll try to avoid pricking our fingers on any spinning wheels…

The source also alleges that “Angie was in a very bad place after [her] split [from Brad]. Just having another adult to spend time with has been helpful.”

Things are reportedly so bad between the pair that, despite having attempted to undergo therapy with their 6 children, they can “barely be in the same room together.”
