]]>BTS was in the running for the biggest award of the night—artist of the year—and managed to beat the likes of Ariana Grande, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd to take it home. They also collected the accolades for the best pop duo or group and favorite pop song with “Butter”.
Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion walked away with three awards each, as well. Doja shared the award for collaboration of the year with SZA for “Kiss Me More” and won two additional awards in the R&B field. Stallion came out victorious in two hip-hop categories and won the award for the favorite trending song with “Body”.
The list of major winners also included Swift, Bad Bunny, and Gabby Barrett, with two awards each. Olivia Rodrigo managed to pick up the trophy for the new artist of the year, after topping the list of nominations with seven nods.
American Music Awards came back to Los Angeles on November 21st, and Cardi B was in charge of hosting the festivities.

]]>In addition to collecting the Artist of the Decade Award, Swift also managed to win five additional categories, and brought her total number of AMA wins to a historic 29!
Swift came out victorious in all of the categories she was nominated in, including artist of the year, favorite music video (“You Need to Calm Down”), favorite female artist – pop/rock, favorite album – pop/rock (Lover) and favorite artist – adult contemporary.
The list of major winners at this year’s ceremony also includes BTS and Khalid with three awards each, and Billie Eilish, Carrie Underwood, and Dan + Shay with two.
The American Music Awards took place yeasterday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, with Ciara serving as a host.

The AMAs have announced that they will be bestowing the prestigious honor on the “You Need to Calm Down” singer at the 2019 ceremony next week.
Taylor began her career in 2004, but dominated charts between 2010 and 2019 during which time she released five albums and won 10 Grammy Awards.
She also has a total of 23 American Music Awards, making her a natural choice for Artist of the Decade.
“She’s won more AMAs than anyone this decade… She’s a five-time 2019 #AMAs nominee… AND she’s performing at this year’s AMAs LIVE on Nov. 24…,” the official AMA account tweeted.” @taylorswift13 is our ARTIST OF THE DECADE!”

The awards are voted for by the fans, perhaps making her wins even more significant.
The “Fearless” singer took home Favourite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album for Reputation, Tour of the Year, and Artist of the Year.
The latter made her the ceremony’s most-decorated female ever — breaking the record of 23 AMAs previously held by Whitney Houston.
Taylor’s touring partner, Camila Cabello, also had a grand evening, picking up New Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year for Havana, Favourite Pop/Rock Song for Havana, and Favourite Music Video for Havana.
Nomination leader, Cardi B, scooped Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist, Favourite Rap/Hip-Hop Song for Bodak Yellow, and Favourite Soul/R&B Song for her collaboration with Bruno Mars, Finesse.
