Awards season 2020 is almost officially underway!

The Golden Globes kick off festivities every year, with this year’s ceremony taking place even earlier than usual on January 5. The Beverley Hills Hilton will be the venue for the glitzy event, which is often regarded as an office party, where everyone gets a little tipsy thanks to the bottles of booze on the tables.

Ricky Gervais will be returning to hosting duties, even though he swore he never would (he promises that this is definitely his last time…), but the night is renowned for having various celebrities grace the stage to present awards.

This year’s batch is set to include Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Tiffany Haddish, Charlize Theron, Will Ferrell, Tim Allen, Christian Bale, Antonio Banderas, Jason Bateman, Cate Blanchett, Matt Bomer, Pierce Brosnan, Glenn Close, Daniel Craig, Ted Danson, Ansel Elgort, Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning, Lauren Graham, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, Scarlett Johansson, Elton John, Nick Jonas, Zoe Kravitz, Jennifer Lopez, Rami Malek, Kate McKinnon, Jason Momoa, Helen Mirren, Gwyneth Paltrow, Amy Poehler, Margot Robbie, Paul Rudd, Wesley Snipes, Octavia Spencer, Sofia Vergara, Kerry Washington, Naomi Watts, and Rachel Weisz.

And don’t be fooled — with the After Life actor around, no one is safe!

Billy Crystal and Tiffany Haddish to team up for a new indie rom-com titled Here Today.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the not-so-conventional romantic comedy follows a veteran comedy writer (Crystal) who slowly loses his grip on reality before meeting a talented street singer (Haddish) with whom he starts a hilarious, touching, and grounding friendship.

Crystal is serving as director. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Alan Zweibel.

“I’m so grateful to get the chance to bring this charming and beautiful story to life,” Crystal said in a statement.

“To write this with Alan was a joy, and to have Tiffany as my costar is fantastic. The generational differences in our comedy will be great to play with. She’s explosively funny and genuinely human at the same time. [I’m] excited to explore all our possibilities together.”

Production begins next month in New York City, however, a release date has yet to be announced.

Night School has a big debut weekend.

Despite tepid responses from critics, moviegoers are loving the new Tiffany Haddish — Kevin Hart comedy.

Expectations were high and the funny duo delivered with a very strong first weekend at the box office. The Universal comedy has topped the domestic box office with $28 million in ticket sales across theaters in the US and Canada from Friday to Sunday. The film was made for about $29 million.

Night School beat Smallfoot which came in second at the box office earning $23 million. Made for about $80 million it tells the story of a Yeti who forms an unlikely friendship with a human. The film boasts a big voice cast including  Channing Tatum, James Corden, Zendaya, Common, LeBron James, and Gina Rodriguez.

The film follows high school drop out Hart who is trying to get his G.E.D. and Haddish a not so conventional night school teacher who refuses to make the journey towards being a better man any easier for him.

Night School is helmed by Malcolm D. Lee and produced by Will Packer.

Rounding out the top five this weekend are The House With a Clock in Its Walls ($12.5 million), A Simple Favor ($6.6 million) and The Nun ($5.4 million).

What a year it’s been for Tiffany Haddish!

The comedian became the first black female in her field to host Saturday Night Live, she added the title of author to her resume by releasing her memoir The Last Black Unicorn, she both announced the Oscar nominations and presented at the awards, and was also named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People.

And now, she is an Emmy Award winner!

The Girls Trip actress took home Best Comedy Guest Actress for Saturday Night Live at Saturday’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards — triumphing over Jane Lynch, Tina Fey, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, and Wanda Sykes.

Tiffany’s famous SNL monologue included her joking about her infamous Alexander McQueen dress which she wore to the premiere of Girls Trip, the Oscars, and MTV Movie and TV Awards because she was going to get her money’s worth!

We hope she wears it to the Emmys too!
