]]>The Shelley Society will follow the authoress as a young woman, with new streaming service, HBO Max, having ordered a pilot.
Described as a Victorian-era version of The X-Files, the official logline states: “Young author Mary Shelley leads a band of Romantic outlaws — among them, her lovers Percy and the Lord Byron — against all manner of supernatural threats and monsters… including Shelley’s own iconic Creature.”
Shelley was famously married to poet Percy Bysshe Shelley whose work she edited.
A competent showrunner has been placed in charge of the potential series — Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Aguirre-Sacasa already has two renowned series on his hands: Riverdale and its spin-off Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
In addition to showrunning, the Chief Creative Officer of Archie Comics has co-created The Shelley Society along with Riverdale writers Tessa Leigh Williams and James DeWille.
