The new trailer for the upcoming monster reboot of The Invisible Man is here.

The new trailer dives deeper into the film’s story and sees Elisabeth Moss’s character Cecilia Kass try and fight off the invisible man, aka her wealthy and brilliant scientist boyfriend (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), who faked his own death and discovered how to become invisible.

The Invisible Man writer-director Leigh Whannell spoke with Entertainment Weekly of the filming process: “The interesting thing was that I was constantly shooting these empty rooms, and empty corridors, and there’s something a bit uncinematic about that. I mean, when you make a movie, the idea is that you put people in the frame — you put something in the frame. When you’re shooting nothing, it goes against the grain of every cinematic instinct you have!”

The Invisible Man hits theaters February 28th.

The remake of The Invisible Man is proving to be rather different from the original.

Not least of all because the main character is actually a woman.

Elisabeth Moss is set to star in the new version of the 1933 film (which was based on the novel of the same name by H.G. Wells). It has now been confirmed that she will be joined by Storm Reid of A Wrinkle in Time.

According to Deadline, The Handmaid’s Tale actress will play Cecilia, who receives news of her abusive ex-boyfriend’s suicide. She begins to re-build her life for the better, but her sense of reality is put into question when she begins to suspect her deceased lover is not actually dead.

Going by the title of the movie, we can assume that Cecilia’s ex is alive — but invisible.

Moss’s character will act as a role model to Reid’s motherless Sydney, but a rift is created between the pair when strange occurrences around the house cause the young girl to distrust Cecilia.

No release date for the Leigh Whannell film has been announced as yet.

The Invisible Man may not be a man, after all.

Universal is producing a screen adaptation of H.G. Wells’ science fiction novel, which was previously adapted for screen in 1933.

The novel follows a scientist who manages to manipulate the body’s refractive index, enabling him to become invisible.

The project, by Upgrade director Leigh Whannell, was originally set to star Johnny Depp.

The Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald actor was due to take on the lead role of Griffin, but will no longer have any involvement in the project.

It seems the studio is taking a rather different turn in its new approach as Elisabeth Moss of The Handmaid’s Tale is said to be in negotiations for the lead.

The film will form part of Universal’s new take on its Dark Universe which previously included the box office bomb The Mummy, starring Tom Cruise.
