Hulu knows when it has blessed fruit on its hands.

The signature series on the streaming service is undoubtedly The Handmaid’s Tale, borne of Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel.

The story of June and her fellow handmaids in the dystopian world of Gilead, in what used to be the United States, has just completed its third season.

24 years later, Atwood is publishing a sequel entitled The Testaments, which will be set fifteen years after the events of Elisabeth Moss’s character, and Hulu has decided to bring it to screen as well.

Discussions are currently underway with the showrunner of The Handmaid’s Tale, Bruce Miller, while fans await a premiere date for season four.

The Testaments will be available on shelves on September 10th.

Praise be, The Handmaid’s Tale has been renewed!

There was little doubt that the series, based on the Margaret Atwood novel, would return after its current season, but it is nice to have official confirmation as announced at the Television Critics Association conference.

The renewal comes as the third season moves towards its conclusion on August 14th.

The show has so far picked up 11 Emmys, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for Elisabeth Moss, who plays Offred (or is that Ofjoseph?).

Moss is expected to return for the 4th season, as is the rest of the cast, which includes Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovsky, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, Samira Wiley, O-T Fagbenle, and Bradley Whitford.

The events of the first season covered Atwood’s famous book, while the subsequent seasons branched out more into the dystopian world of Gilead.

Season 4 of The Handmaid’s Tale is expected in 2020, and for that we hope we are truly worthy.

The post, which showed the newlyweds surrounded by their dogs, also revealed that the couple, who have been together since 2015, decided to elope.

“In a shocking, totally unearned plot twist, Commander Lawrence married Mrs. McKenzie today in Santa Barbara,” the groom tweeted in references to their Handmaid’s characters. “The shark may have been jumped, but the couple is thrilled.”

Blessed be the fruit!

The revolution is under his eye.

For two seasons, Offred (Elisabeth Moss) has lived under the oppression of Gilead while silently planning her escape. And now, the official trailer for the third season of The Handmaid’s Tale has given us an idea of her next plan.

Season two of the Hulu show, based on the Margaret Atwood novel, ended with Offred (aka June) making a choice that confused some and frustrated many.

Season three looks likely to focus on June’s role in leading the resistance and the forthcoming revolution…

“If I’m going to change things, I’m going to need allies,” she says.

It appears as though cold-hearted Serena Waterford may have finally let the ice crack and will assist Offred in her mission.

As the tag line says: witness the birth of a revolution.

The fruit will be blessed when The Handmaid’s Tale returns on June 5th.
