]]>ABC has decided to order a full season for The Baker and the Beauty, based on the Israeli series called Beauty and the Baker.
The original focuses on the unlikely relationship between a simple Israeli baker and a supermodel who meet on a night out in Tel Aviv.
The American version will follow the same premise, with Victor Razuk playing Daniel Garcia who works in his Cuban family’s bakery and then meets international superstar Noa Hamilton (played by Nathalie Kelley) in Miami.
The original show’s executive producers will fill the same role on the new series, in conjunction with Becky Hartman Edwards, David Frankel, and Dean Georgaris. The latter two will also serve as director and writer, respectively.
This is not the first series adapted from Israel. Homeland was based on the Israeli show Hatufim, while In Treatment also has an Israeli counterpart.

]]>Much like its predecessor Homeland, which was based on Hatufim, or Hostages, which was based Bnei Aruba, Hollywood has set its sights on another Israeli show.
The latest offering is The Baker and the Beauty, which follows the romance between an ordinary baker and an international superstar.
While the original series is available on Amazon Prime, ABC has ordered a pilot of an English-speaking, Americanized version from Dean Geogaris.
The hour-long rom-com marks the second pilot for The Brave creator this season after NBC ordered Bluff City Law.
