As part of the press tour for their upcoming movie, Long Shot, Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen underwent a lie detector test conducted by Vanity Fair.

Each were hooked up to a device and had to answer questions from the other.

Is Ryan Reynolds or Ryan Gosling the nicer Canadian Ryan? Does Canada have more attractive politicians than the United States? These are questions the Atomic Blonde actress demanded to know from her co-star.

In response, Seth questioned Charlize about her native country of South Africa.

The 43-year-old was asked what is the most South African thing she could say, replying that they should have a little braai [barbecue] that night.

Charlize also described Seth in Afrikaans as as an “oulike ou” [cute guy] who is “baie snaaks” [very funny] and likes to “rook” [smoke weed].

The Oscar winner recently spent several months in the South African city of Cape Town where she shot scenes as video game character, Lara Croft (originally played by Angelina Jolie) in Tomb Raider.

The Swedish actress spoke to Channel24 and says she considers herself “a very lucky person because I got to spend five months in Cape Town shooting this film and I absolutely love it.”

“And the people, above anything – we had such a huge local crew on this film, and they were so professional and so lovely,” the 29-year-old said. “It’s a wonderful way to get introduced to a new city.”

During her time in Cape Town — affectionately termed the “Mother City” — Alicia got in shape by climbing the iconic Table Mountain (a few times!), as shown by her trainer, Magnus Lygdback:

And also had the opportunity to go shark-cage diving, venture to the region’s famous vineyards, and was even joined by husband, Michael Fassbender, while celebrating one of the crew member’s birthdays.

Alicia’s love for Cape Town is reportedly a mutual thing, with locals hoping a Tomb Raider sequel is in the works so they can welcome her back.
