MacFarlane will play Ailes’ confidante Brian Lewis, the Fox News’ public relations chief of more than 17 years who “spent his career promoting and protecting Ailes until the media machine turned against Lewis and ended his career,” according to Showtime. Sienna Miller will star as Ailes’ ex-wife Elizabeth “Beth” Ailes.

“Very excited to be part of this series – loved the book, and it’s nice to get off the spaceship now and then,” MacFarlane tweeted on Saturday. 

The four join the previously announced Russel Crowe who will star in the lead role as Ailes himself and Naomi Watts who will star as Gretchen Carlson, the former Fox News anchor who sued Ailes in 2016.

The still-untitled project is based on the Gabriel Sherman book The Loudest Voice in the Room. 

Kari Skogland (The Handmaid’s Tale) will direct the first two episodes of the series.

According to ET, the event will be a “modern take on traditional Christmas specials.” The hour-long program will feature holiday sketches and musical performances. Stefani will perform a duet with boyfriend Blake Shelton. Other artists who will make a special appearance include NE-YO, Chelsea Handler, Ken Jeong, and Seth MacFarlane.

The 48-year-old singer-songwriter will also perform several songs from her new album, as well as holiday classics such as “Jingle Bells,” “Silent Night” and “Santa Baby.”

“Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year,” Stefani stated. “I am excited to share my new holiday album with everyone and the joy of this holiday season. I look forward to giving audiences a peek into our family’s favorite Christmas traditions and enjoying some of the music, old and new, that makes the holiday so special.”
